Vermont Theatre Company

The Vermont Theatre Company is a nonprofit theatre organization which began in Burlington. It was reestablished in Brattleboro in 1984 by Ray Jenness, the original Artistic Director and Mastermind. VTC is proud of the productions presented in and around Brattleboro. Titles range from comedy to tragedy, contemporary to classic.

In 1990, VTC launched what has become a tradition: an annual Shakespeare in the Park production at the Rotary Club Amphitheater in Brattleboro’s Living Memorial Park. Presented on the last weekend of June, it has attracted over 8,000 picnickers over the years.

VTC is committed to a policy of open auditions and is proud to introduce to our audiences new talent alongside seasoned performers. We employ a wide variety of directors from the Tri-State area, many of whom have extensive professional theatre backgrounds. In addition to providing these opportunities for our neighbors and ourselves, we intend to offer high quality theatre at affordable prices and to offer shows which will entertain and excite the imaginations of our diverse and discriminating audience.
