Mission:

Stowe Performing Arts is a non-profit community organization with a volunteer Board of Directors dedicated to bringing high quality performances and opportunities for cultural enrichment through the Performing Arts to the community and surrounding areas.

Stowe Performing Arts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that began presenting concerts in the former Whisker's Field on Mountain Road in 1976. At the suggestion of Johannes von Trapp, the concerts were moved to a new venue - the meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge - in the early '80s. This much-loved summer series has since been known as the Music in the Meadow concerts.

Stowe Performing Arts has continued to expand its offerings to the community in keeping with its mission statement. Sponsorships and proceeds from Stowe Performing Arts' Music in the Meadowconcerts also help fund eight free concerts between May and August. Raffle sales enable the organization to present professional musicians in performances at Stowe's schools.
