Stowe High School is a small, rural school that is influenced by a vibrant village providing 12 months of robust resort activity. Historically, the community has supported our school so that the children will benefit from a broad array of opportunities. It has done this while maintaining the focus on those basic values that define a New England village. Our students receive a vigorous academic education while, at the same time, they are expected to dedicate themselves to service and socializing activities. Honesty, sincerity, hard work, freethinking and loyalty to family and society all are core values emphasized both in our school and in our homes.
We find ourselves in a time in which it is difficult to maintain a school’s greatest asset- its faculty. Despite this, we have been able to provide our students with a faculty of an average of 19 years of teaching experience with 67 % of them holding advanced degrees and beyond. Ours is a school with support for all learners while having an emphasis on academics. In part, this is accomplished with a 1:10 teacher to student ratio and a strong advisory program.
Striving for excellence, through diverse and comprehensive programs designed to inspire a life-long love of learning, the Stowe School District,in cooperation with our community, will provide a stimulating and supportive environment that challenges all students to be respectful and responsible world citizens.
