KidsPLAYce, originally called the Children's Museum of Windham County, Inc. was founded in 1981 as a not-for-profit corporation and serves children up to twelve years of age and their adult care givers in the Southern Vermont region.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults to play, create. learn and grow together. Since 1994, we have maintained an affordable public Playspace with interactive exhibits and colorful storybook structures appropriate for children through eight years of age. Moreover, since 1997, we have developed educational programming for children five to twelve years of age.
All of our programs, whether weekly, week-long, or one day grand events, are developmentally appropriate and integrate creativity and fun for both children and their caregivers in a safe and healthy environment. Our educational programs include Discovery Days, which are Saturday morning workshops and performances led by professional artists and our Theme Camps, which are one to three week school vacation camps. To date, we have had 45 workshops and six camps, with attendance of 1,015 children. KidsPLAYce has also produced four concerts and two multiple night marionette shows.
