New Year’s Eve Murder Mystery Dinner at The Essex, Essex, VT

Attend a New Year’s Eve Murder Mystery Dinner at the Essex. Performed by the October Theatre Company, see if you can figure out “who done it” while dining on a sumptuous meal. Call The Essex for ticket prices and reservations. The dinner and show run from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bristol Best Night, Bristol, VT

Ring in the New Year at Bristol Best Night. The Starline Rhythm Boys are the featured performers. There are also other musicians, a magic show, an open mic session and more. The community even presents wholesome entertainment perfect for families. Buttons are available at several Bristol businesses as well as online. Save $5 if you buy them ahead of time.

Stratton Mountain New Year’s Eve Celebration, Stratton Mountain, VT

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Stratton Mountain, the highest peak in Southern Vermont. The family-friendly event includes arts and crafts for the kids, a snowshoe hike and fireworks that kick of at 8:30 p.m. Parents can be back in their rooms with the kids tucked to bed in plenty of time to watch the ball drop in Times Square on TV—with a toast that isn’t so kid-friendly. New Year’s Eve Featuring the Grift at Town & Country Resort @ Stowe, Stowe, VT

Get ready for an evening full of music and fun at New Year’s Eve Featuring The Grift. Playing from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the Grift is a Burlington band with exceptional harmonies that plays a little bit of everything—from top 40 to indie pop and beyond. The party includes hors d-oeuvres throughout the evening, party favors, hats, tiaras and a champagne toast at midnight. A large projection screen will keep party-goers abreast of the fun in NYC as the ball drops in Times Square. Tickets are available at the resort or online.

Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at Mount Snow, West Dover, VT

If you’re not a late-night person, but still want to enjoy some New Year’s Eve fun, head on over to Mount Show for their Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. Beginning at 5:45 p.m., the Mount Snow Ski and Snowboard instructors will descend a trail holding torchlights, making for an ethereal scene. Immediately following the parade, the fireworks display will begin. The place to take this all in is between the Clocktower and the Cape House. Contact the ski lodge for more information.

New Year’s Eve 2019 at Red Square, Burlington, VT

Enjoy the festivities at Red Square on New Year’s Eve.  Starting at two in the afternoon, bands begin taking the Main Stage. Acts go on at 6 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. DJs headline the Blue Room—DJ Spags at 7 p.m. and DJ Atak at 11 p.m. Partake of the buffet and champagne toast at midnight. Pinnacle Vodka is sponsoring an ice sculpture display and a photo booth. Tickets are $40, and it’s recommended to buy them ahead of time as they will likely sell out.

Jamie Lee Thurston at the Bolton Valley Backcountry Ballroom, Bolton Valley, VT

See Jamie Lee Thurston in concert at the Bolton Valley Backcountry Ballroom on New Year’s Eve. Preceding the show is a display of skiers holding torches as they come down the mountain. This is followed by a fireworks display, after which the doors will open (at 9:30 p.m.) at the ballroom. Jamie Lee Thurston is set to take the stage at 10 p.m. A free champagne toast and a balloon drop will take place at midnight to usher in 2019. Tickets are $30—$35 on the day of the show. They are available online.

New Year’s Eve at Hotel Vermont, Burlington, VT

Don your festive attire and attend New Year’s Eve at Hotel Vermont. For $85 per person, you’ll enjoy “heavy” hors d’oeuvres, a coffee and dessert bar and a champagne toast at midnight. In between all that, dance the night away to the Phil Abair Band and DJ Cre-8. The event runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are available online at Seven Day Tickets.
