Energy and Ecology

Participants in this program will learn about how the flow of energy moves from the sun to plants and animals with a focus on the interconnectedness of living and nonliving things in the food web. Using hands-on items, discussion, and games students will study animal adaptations to conserve energy.

12PM - 1PM:

Southern Vermont History Museum Program

Exploring Wildlife and Our Role with The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum

In 1970 Earth Day was created to force issues of clean air and water, preservation of wild places and the sustainable use of our planet’s resources into the forefront of our national consciousness. Since then, the Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act and more have come into being, safeguarding those resources. The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum will explore the wildlife side of these changes in awareness and attitude with the help of some live, non-releasable animals.
